Turnford Restructuring Group

Our Team

Christopher Wain

Turnford’s Principal, Chris Wain started his career solving technical problems as an Aerospace non-conforming materials engineer, and later, failure analysis engineer. Chris’s career quickly moved to business management where he worked globally to resolve underperforming portfolio operations within two multinational corporations. Finally settling in Seattle, Chris left corporate operations to work with local companies and lenders to mitigate complex, distressed situations. This culminated in the formation of Turnford, a company dedicated to hands-on business turnaround and loss recovery. Chris and Turnford’s recovery success over multiple projects is evident in our case studies. The secured creditors have seen full recovery with significant distributions flowing down through the unsecured's in over ninety percent of our cases. This success is in large part due to Turnford’s unique approach, a product of Chris’s problem solving, and operational experience developed over a lifetime of working with underperforming enterprises.

Chris read mechanical engineering in London and finance and accounting at the University of Washington

Iveta Lis

Iveta has a well-established background in operations management across a wide range of businesses from commodity production to heavily regulated industry. The challenges to maintaining an operation and driving it towards a liquidation event are significantly greater than sustaining operations for a going concern. They range from negotiating with vendors, many of whom are unsecured trade creditors, to maintain and preserve the enterprise value, maintaining/motivating staff while concurrently right sizing, when there is no clear future or economic security and re-establishing customer confidence to maintain the income stream. Iveta has a proven record of successfully managing the challenges presented by a distressed operation and has been a key contributor to the results detailed in Turnford’s case studies
